Bulletin Board: Eye Spy

In Bulletin Boards on February 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM

I spy with my little eye…

Simple concept, incredibly time consuming execution…

Materials:

  • Magazines
  • Rubber Cement
  • Scissors
  • Butcher Block

Step 1: Cut out images from your magazines. Every image, even if it seems strange. The most random things are what makes this board fun.
Step 2: Find doubles for some of your images. This can be a little tricky until you know where to look. Woman’s magazines tend to have the same ads, the table of contents will usually have slightly smaller versions of  images featured later in the magazine, and you can usually get several copies of junk mail catalogs,  just ask a neighbor for their version.

Step 3: Cut your butcher block to the size of your board. Lay it down on a flat surface.  Choose an edge of the paper to serve as your “key”. This will be where your double images go.  Trace a line about 6 inches parallel to this edge.

Step 4: Ready for the fun part? Rubber cement ALL the things! Keep them out of the key area, but everywhere else is free game.

Step 5: After it has dried, staple it up to your board. 🙂
